Ashley Mitchum

Dorchester School District Four is proud to honor Ashley Mitchum, First Grade Teacher at Harleyville Elementary School, as one of our Everyday Heroes for May.

Nominated by Principal Jeremy Wolfgang, Mrs. Mitchum is recognized for her heartfelt dedication, exceptional teaching, and commitment to fostering a positive school culture.

“I am honored to nominate Mrs. Ashley Mitchum as an Everyday Hero,” said Principal Wolfgang. “As a first-grade teacher, she creates a warm, engaging, and supportive learning environment where her students thrive both academically and emotionally. Her dedication to her students is evident in everything she does, from her thoughtful lessons to the way she celebrates each child’s growth and success.”

Beyond her classroom, Mrs. Mitchum also serves as Harleyville Elementary’s co-cheerleading coach, where she inspires students with the same energy and encouragement. Her involvement builds school spirit and allows her to mentor students in meaningful ways beyond academics.

“She consistently goes above and beyond for our school community with a positive attitude, a servant’s heart, and a true love for teaching,” added Principal Wolfgang. “Mrs. Mitchum is the kind of educator who makes a lasting difference every day, and she is truly deserving of the title Everyday Hero.”

Dorchester School District Four proudly celebrates Ashley Mitchum for the joy, dedication, and impact she brings to her students and school every day.
